Patients may dislike several things about their ears. Typically we hear that they feel their ears are too large or stick out too much.

If your ears bother you, Dr. Schmidt can analyze them to determine an individualized solution for your needs. Ears can be pinned back if they stick out too much. We can also reduce their size by removing tissue in ways that leave scars that are nearly invisible.

Earlobes can become damaged by trauma, wearing heavy earrings or through the normal aging process. The type of damage can vary from a deep line with an excessively long hole to a complete tear of the earlobe.

Earlobe repair is done in the office under local anesthesia. Surgery typically takes about 30 minutes per side. Stitches are removed after a period of about two weeks.

If desired, Dr. Schmidt will re-pierce your ears following the completion of the healing process.
