Skin Cancer Patient 9

Description:

This patient in her late sixties presented with a pigmented lesion on the outside of her left ear. One of my colleagues removed it in the office, thinking it was a simple mole. It turned out to be a melanoma. We had to re-excise the area with a large rim of normal to ensure that all of the potentially deadly skin cancer was removed. The ear was repaired by advancing other parts of the rim of her ear. The result is shown six weeks following the reconstruction. She loves showing off her new ear to her friends!
