Going to the Virginia Wine Expo? Here’s a timeline to look your best!

Here at West End Facial Plastic Surgery, we love wine. Especially Virginia wine!

Dr. Schmidt and his wife discovered the Virginia wine industry shortly after we first moved here in 2005. We love to go up to the mountains around Charlottesville and go wine tasting. Some of our favorites include King FamilyJefferson, and Rockbridge. Another good one that we haven’t visited yet is Rosemont. The 12th annual Virginia Wine Expo is coming up with grand tastings on Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 8. While it’s a great time to learn about Virginia wine, it’s also an awesome opportunity to see and be seen. Of course, you want to look your best when you’re sipping and seeing! Here’s a blue print complete with a time line to be looking your best!

  1. Week of February 3: Come in for Pelleve, Botox®, and maybe some filler. Pelleve is a treatment done by our master aestheticians. It uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen deposition in the deeper layers of your skin. It doesn’t hurt and there’s no downtime. But you want to give your skin a few weeks to work. Botox is great for relaxing fine lines and wrinkles, but it takes a couple of weeks to show its’ maximum effect. Finally, fillers are awesome for disguising the aging process and plumping your lips (not too much!), but if you get any bruises, you’ll need some time for them to disappear. Dr. Schmidt can help you to decide if filler is right for you and then the right kind.
  2. Week of February 10: If you have sun damage, rosacea, or uneven skin tone, IPL is a great solution. What’s IPL? Check out this post from the archives. There is minimal recovery time, but any sun damage or pigment gets a lot darker for about five days before it goes away, so you’ll want to plan accordingly. Check out our video gallery to see Dr. Schmidt getting an IPL Photofacial.
  3. Week of February 17: Come in for a microdermabrasion treatment with a dermal infusion. Microdermabrasion is great for exfoliation- removing dead skin cells to allow your natural glow to shine through.
  4. Week of February 24: Game on! You’re looking great because you’ve spent the month pampering yourself. To put a cherry on top, come in for a medical grade facial. We offer three different kinds of facial, but they’re all designed to clean, hydrate, and calm your skin so it’s looking its best for the weekend’s Walk-Around Grand Tasting.
